Please read carefully before your visit.
The following rules and information apply to both Lake Ruby and Lake Ruby 2 – The Social Lake. Please make sure everyone in your group has read and understood the rules before arriving. Rules may be subject to change — we'll always let you know of any updates before your visit.
Lake Rules
Rules may be subject to change. Please make sure you fully understand the rules prior to fishing. Updated rules will be provided on request.
Arrival & Departure
- Arrival from 12:30pm Saturday (when gates open)
- No arrivals on a Friday night
- Departure no later than 09:30am Saturday (2026)
- Departure no later than 09:00am Saturday from 2027 onwards
- The key for Lake Ruby 2 – The Social Lake is collected from Lake Ruby at 12:30pm on arrival day. A refundable €100 deposit is required at collection, covering the cabin key, cabin cleanliness, an empty fridge-freezer and no rubbish left on site.
Tackle & Rigs
- No leaders of any type, including safe zones (2026 season). From 2027, safe zone leaders will be permitted on both lakes once snags have been cleared.
- No leadcore
- No braided main line — tubing only, minimum 600mm in length
- Leads must be able to drop off
- Micro barbed or barbed hooks
- Minimum 15lb line
- Maximum 3 rods per angler
- Minimum 42 inch landing nets
- Do not leave rods unattended
- No plastic baits
- No plastic bottles to be used as markers
- Bait boats allowed
- Rowing boats available for hire
- Boat with outboard & battery available for hire
Swims & Rods
- Lake Ruby has 4 double swims and 5 single swims
- Double swims allow up to 6 rods between 2 anglers
- If 2 anglers share a single swim, each angler is limited to 2 rods
Bait
- No nuts of any kind — boilies are fine
- No plastic baits
- On-site bait available for both lakes (boilies, pellets, particles, pop-ups, wafters, hook baits, bait soaks)
Fish Care
- All anglers must have a carp care kit
- Bring your own mats, slings and nets
- Only lift fish out of the water using a sling — no other lifting method permitted
- No sacking of fish
On-Site Conduct
- Please respect the lakes, the fish and the facilities
- All cars to be parked in the designated areas
- All rubbish must be taken away — nothing to be left on site
- Any angler caught dumping rubbish anywhere, including the local area, will be banned for life
- Take shoes off when entering the Lake Ruby 2 cabin
- Lake Ruby 2 cabin to be left clean and tidy, with nothing left behind in the cabin or fridge

Deposits & Payment
- 50% deposit required to secure your booking
- Final balance due 10 weeks before arrival
- €100 cabin deposit required for Lake Ruby 2, refundable on departure subject to cabin condition

Check Availability
All bookings are made online via swimbooker. Both lakes are available on an exclusive basis.
Our Location
Lake Ruby is set in the heart of the Champagne region of France, a short 3 hours 20 minutes drive from Calais. Full directions are provided upon booking.
